What is Dry Eye?
Our eyes must be bathed in tears at all times. When the protective tear layer of the eye is disrupted, the eye becomes exposed to the environment causing the cells of the eye to become damaged and die. This is called dry eye. The damaged cells can cause a variety of symptoms including but not limited to:
- Gritty, Sandy Eyes
- Stinging, burning Eyes
- Tired Eyes
- Itchy Eyes
- Red Eyes
- Feels like something is in the eye
- Vision that comes and goes
- Spontaneous tearing
- Headache
